On Sunday, I participated in a craft show in Stittsville. This time however, I spent my time not focused on selling mosaics.
Late the night before, I had accepted an invitation to be a vendor at this years Runway for Hope. This is an annual fundraiser for CHEO, our local children’s hospital. Part of my commitment as a vendor is to supply a mosaic to be auctioned off that evening. A plan began to brew!
The next morning, I instead of carting my mosaics to the park to sell, I decided to try out the idea that had begun to brew just hours before – to build a community mosaic! A mosaic to donate to the auction to raise further monies for CHEO! The idea was very well received by the Stittsville community; many were quite eager to participate! We even started a thank you “card” signed by most of the participants. The card will go to the successful bidder of the mosaic. So, if you’re having an event this summer – invite me along and I’ll bring the WIP ( work in progress:) There is still a lot of glass to be placed! Stay tuned for more updates over the coming months.
